Kempenfelt Community Players is pleased to present the final production of their 2011 – 2012 season, The Full Monty, at Barrie’s Mady Centre for the Performing Arts.
Written by Terrence McNally with music and lyrics by David Yazbek, it is the tale of six unemployed steelworkers who go to extreme lengths to make some fast cash and help out a friend. Each facing their own personal crisis, the guys concoct a bold plan, in the process they build self-confidence and rediscover the importance of friendship, family and community.
“The Full Monty is about much more than, as one character puts it, prancing around Buffalo with your willies out”, said Stephen Bainbrough, Director. “It has incredible heart and courage and more than its share of laughs, just what one needs in tough economic times!”
Audience members will fall in love with the characters in this raucous, heartfelt story of camaraderie and the resilience of the human spirit. The production will surprise you, delight you and by the final scene will have you cheering heartily for the underdog!
