Dive into the vibrant world of Bikini Bottom in SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition — a hilarious, heartfelt, and high-energy musical adventure based on the beloved SpongeBob SquarePants!

When the fate of Bikini Bottom hangs in the balance, SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends must come together to save their home from an impending volcanic eruption. Along the way, they discover the power of friendship, courage, and believing in the unexpected.

Featuring an incredible score with songs by legendary artists across every genre, this musical is packed with huge ensemble numbers, unforgettable characters, and nonstop energy. From Patrick Star and Sandy Cheeks to Squidward Tentacles, Pearl Krabs, and Plankton, there are exciting featured opportunities for performers of all experience levels.

Whether you’re aiming for a lead role or love being part of an energetic ensemble, there’s a place for everyone in this colourful, fast-paced youth production. It’s going to be one splash of a show!

Additional rehearsals may be added as required, particularly for principal roles.
Cast members are expected to make every effort to attend all scheduled rehearsals. Please be prepared to disclose any conflicts (vacations, appointments, etc.) at auditions.

AUDITION INFORMATION

Session 1: Initial Auditions
June 15th, 16th, or 17th
4:30 PM – 8:30 PM (Choose one day)
Auditions will be scheduled in 80-minute sessions for groups of 8–10 performers.
Each audition session includes 3 segments:
Dance Call – The group will learn and perform a short choreographed combination from the show.
Group Readings – Auditionees will read excerpts from the script together.
These excerpts will be sent ahead of time. You may be asked to read for any role.
Individual Vocal Auditions – Please prepare 60-90 seconds of a musical theatre song that showcases your vocal and acting range. It is highly recommended to choose songs that are similar to the style of the show, and appropriate for youth performers.
We encourage songs with:  **Strong storytelling  **Character work  **Comedy and personality
Please bring your own accompaniment track cued and ready on your device.
A speaker will be provided.
No live accompanist available.
Please do not sing acapella.

Session 2: Callbacks (For Principal Roles)
June 20th
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Callbacks will include:
* Cold reads
* Music from the show
* Character work
Anyone called back must remain for the full callback session unless otherwise specified.
Those selected for callbacks will be contacted by email following initial auditions.

SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition is an ensemble-driven show with exciting featured moments for performers throughout the production.
Every cast member can expect meaningful stage time.
Understudies may be cast.
All characters can be cast as any gender.
We are looking for performers with strong energy, movement skills, and big character choices.
Strong dancers are encouraged to audition.

Please dress appropriately for movement and dance.
