CRITERIA & DEADLINES FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
YOUTH PRODUCTION
We are looking for submissions for Show Title and Artistic Leadership for the Nov. 2023 Youth Production. Individuals/teams with an interest can also contact kcpprogramming@gmail.com for clarification on any of the information provided. Deadline for submitting an Expression of Interest is Wed. March 29th. Interviews will follow in early April.
Show Criteria:
- Must be a musical
- Running time of show is approx. 60 mins with no intermission
- Suitable for cast members between the ages of 10 and 18 years.
- For a cast of 25 or more performers. Should not exceed 40 performers.
- Suitable for audience members between the ages of six and 14 years of age. Should be engaging and appealing to all elementary school ages.
- Possess marketable educational elements or have appeal that can be tied into the Ontario Curriculum. Preferably to come with existing and/or easily produced teacher materials.
- Should take into consideration the current technical, production, and general support the organization can supply. Currently, KCP is rebuilding for areas of set construction, so careful consideration of those demands is important at this time.
General Information on Production Timelines:
- Auditions are typically held in June
- Rehearsals are September to tech week in November
- Typically, rehearsals are 3 days a week (2 weekday rehearsals – often 4:30 to 7pm, and Sunday afternoons)
- Tech week begins with Nov. 3rd move-in to Georgian College. Show closes on Nov. 12th. School matinee shows run during the week, with public shows beginning Friday evening.
Youth Company – Expressions of Interest Due by March 29th
We are interested in knowing the following:
- Your skill set and experience you can bring to the project
- A brief description of your choice of title and why you feel it is a good fit with KCP
- Any additional team members you bring with your proposal (i.e. Music Director, Choreographer, Designer, Set construction, Costumes etc.)
FULL COMPANY PRODUCTION – THE ADDAMS FAMILY
We are looking for submissions for Artistic Leadership for the February 2024 Full Company production of The Addams Family. Individuals/teams with an interest can also contact kcpprogramming@gmail.com for clarification on any of the information provided. Deadline for submitting an Expression of Interest is Wed. March 29th. Interviews will follow in early April.
General Information on Production Timelines & other details
- Auditions are typically in the fall (i.e. September) with rehearsals beginning sometime in October (determined by the Artistic Team’s planning of time required to meet tech week)
- rehearsals are typically 2 weekday evenings and Sunday evenings. Sunday afternoons are added/determined by Artistic Team with show Producer
- Tech week: move into Georgian Theatre on Feb. 2nd.
- Show runs for 2 weeks (Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun – with 2 shows on Saturday:matinee and evening, and a matinee on Sundays) Final performance is Sun. Feb. 18th at 2pm.
- other details: this production involves live musical accompaniment. The Music Director typically assembles the required instrumentation/musicians
