About the Show

Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera that traces the final days in the life of Jesus Christ; his arrival in Jerusalem, his betrayal, passion and crucifixion. The show features the hits “l Don’t Know How to Love Him”, “What’s the Buzz?”, and the title song.  Jesus Christ Superstar was the first musical by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber to be produced on the professional stage. It opened on Broadway in 1971, it was a huge success and ran for 720 performances.  In 1973 the motion picture was released.
