A New Look for a Storied Legacy: Introducing the Kempenfelt Community Players New Logo

Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future

Kempenfelt Community Player’s new logo reflects its mission, its history, and
its community. Since 1977, Kempenfelt Community Players (KCP) has been a cornerstone of the region’s performing arts scene, creating magical musicals and opportunities for local performers, musicians, set designers, costumers, and stage crews.

As the longest-running community theatre company in Barrie, KCP has built a legacy of passion, creativity, and connection. And now, that legacy has a fresh new look.

Why a New Logo?

Over the years, KCP has evolved, and it was time for a visual identity that truly captures the essence of who we are today and tells a compelling story

Our new logo reflects our mission, our history, and our community. It’s more than just an update—it’s a tribute to the performers, volunteers, audiences and our region, all make KCP what it is.

The Story Behind the Design

A great logo tells a story, and ours is no exception. We worked closely with Rhubarb Media to make sure every element was carefully chosen to represent KCP’s heart and soul.  A logo that spoke to where KCP has been and where it is goingEvery element was carefully chosen to represent KCP’s heart and soul. The refreshed logo incorporates four meaningful elements: a Music Staff, Waves, Spotlights, and a Stage. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to represent who we are and what we stand for.

🎼 The Music Staff – The five lines of the musical staff are a nod to our roots in musical theatre. The spaces between the lines represent more than just music—they signify spaces for creativity, friendship, dedication to the arts and inspiration within our community.

🌊 The Waves – Flowing seamlessly from the musical staff, these waves represent Kempenfelt Bay, and Barrie, our home and our community. These waves are a tribute to our home, a symbol of belonging, and a reminder of our connection to nature and its movements and rhythms. Just as water connects us to our surroundings, theatre connects us to one another—creating ripples of inspiration that extend far beyond the stage.

🎭 The Spotlights and Stage – The two spotlights shine brightly on what matters most: the talent, dedication, and stories that take centre stage. They also reflect KCP’s commitment to nurturing performers of all ages, providing a space where voices can be heard and creativity can shine. It also evokes the heart of theatre itself—a stage and backdrop where stories, music, and dreams all come together.

Together, these elements create a bold, dynamic, and timeless brand identity—one that respects our past while embracing the future of community theatre in Barrie.

More Than a Logo—A Symbol of Community

At its core, KCP is about people. It’s about the performers who step into the spotlight, the crews who work tirelessly behind the scenes, and the audiences who experience the magic of live theatre. This new logo represents all of us—a collective of artists, volunteers, and supporters who believe in the power of storytelling and the impact of theatre on our community.

As we step into this new chapter, we invite you to celebrate with us! Whether you’re a long-time supporter or discovering KCP for the first time, we welcome you to be a part of our story.
