Leadership Roles for KCP's 24'/25' Season:

Deadline for submitting an expression of interest is Sunday, March 31, 2024!

YOUNG COMPANY PRODUCTION

General Information about the Production and Timelines:

  • Running time of show is approx. 60 mins with no intermission.
  • Cast members between the ages of 10 and 18 years.
    (For a cast of 25 to 30 performers)
  • Auditions typically held in June.
  • Rehearsals are September to tech week in November.
  • Rehearsals are normally 3 days a week. (2 weekday rehearsals – often 4:30 to 7pm, and Sunday afternoons)
  • Tech week begins with Nov. 15th move-in to Georgian Theatre., show closes on Nov. 24th. School matinee shows run during the week with public shows beginning Friday evening and running through to Sunday afternoon.

Youth Company – Expressions of Interest Due by March 31st. Interviews will follow in early to mid-April.

We are interested in knowing the following:

  • Leadership role(s) of interest
  • Your skill set and experience you can bring to the project
  • Any additional team members you bring with your proposal
  • Note: Not required but we would like to know if you have suggestions or recommendations as well as your willingness or flexibility to be matched with team members selected during the interview process. (i.e. Music Director, Choreographer, Designer, Set Construction, Costumes etc.)

FULL COMPANY PRODUCTION

General Information about the Production and Timelines:

  • Full Company Cast size is minimal 25 members.
    (NOTE: Due to the uniqueness of this show – with a youth chorus – the total cast number will be slightly larger than the usual expectation of at least 30 members. But the main cast, consisting of gr. 12 age and older, should be a minimum of 25 members. The youth chorus size and ages can be discussed between the artistic team, producer and board.)
  • Auditions are typically in the fall (i.e. September) with rehearsals beginning
    sometime in October or beginning of November. (determined by the Artistic
    Team’s planning of time required to meet tech week)
  • Rehearsals are typically two weekday evenings and Sunday evenings. Sunday afternoons are added/determined by Artistic Team with show Producer.
  • Tech week: move into Georgian Theatre on Jan. 29th or 30th.
  • Show runs for two weeks beginning Thurs. Feb. 6th (Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun – with two shows on Saturday: matinee and evening, and a matinee on Sundays) Final performance is Sun. Feb.16th at 2 P.M. for a total of 10 performances.
  • Other details: this production involves live musical accompaniment. The Music Director typically assembles the required instrumentation/musicians.

  • Studio company cast size is ‘mid-size’ and can range from 10 to approx. 18
    performers.
  • Auditions are held in January or February (avoiding conflicts with Full Company production schedule), with rehearsals beginning sometime in late February or early March. (determined by the Artistic Team’s planning of time required to meet tech week)
  • Rehearsals are typically 2 weekday evenings and Sunday evenings. Sunday afternoons are added/determined by Artistic Team with show Producer.
  • Tech week: move into The Five Points Theatre late May.
  • Show runs for two weeks beginning late May or early June (Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun – with two shows on Saturday: matinee and evening, and a matinee on Sundays for a total of 10 performances).
  • Note: Final Performance dates to be confirmed with theatre booking.
  • Other details: this production involves live musical accompaniment. The Music Director typically assembles the required instrumentation/musicians.
