CLOSER THAN EVER: This is a brilliant musical revue that explores the challenges of modern day love. It requires four very strong singers/actors: 2 women and 2 men. You must be able to “sell” a song, hold a harmony, and do minimal dancing.

Character Descriptions and Vocal Ranges
Woman 1
• Between 40 and 55 years of age
• Vocal range top A5 and bottom F3
• A somewhat homely but intelligent woman with a modern flair. She describes her views on friendships with ex-boyfriends, the public vs private self, the importance of remaining friends forever, the challenge of balancing career and family, the surprises of middle-aged life, and becoming content with isolation.

Woman 2
• Between 35 and 45 years of age
• Vocal range top A5 and bottom F3
• A real firecracker, bursting with energy, with comedic ability but, also, touching sincerity. She describes a lover who doesn’t love her, her belief in life-long relationships, being open to second chances with love, and the energy she receives from a new lover.

Man 1
• Between 35 and 45 years of age
• Vocal range top B5 and bottom F3
• A youthful, handsome fellow. He bemoans the fact that a lover doesn’t love him, describes trying to get fit and healthy, as well as the commitment of marriage, life without love, how important friendship is, being open to second chances, and growing up.

Man 2
• Between 40 and 55 years of age
• Vocal range top G5 and bottom A3
• He is approaching middle age and reflects on friends and lovers, the daily challenges of being a family man, becoming fit and healthy, forgetting the past and looking to the future, balancing career and family, and what it means to be a father.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:Please prepare a dramatic musical theatre song (no longer than 3 min.) that highlights your ability to interpret emotionally and that showcases a good section of your range. A range test will be done following your audition. There will be an accompanist available, or you can choose to bring accompaniment on a device (a speaker is available), or sing a cappella. (Please bring any performance resume information that you would like the director to have)
Audition Dates: Jan. 19th (7-9:30PM) and 20th (1PM onward) by individual pre-booking only
Callbacks: Jan. 26th

Auditions will take place January 19th and 20th, 2018.
